Look at this beautiful 1960s highboard by Danish designer Henning Kjærnulf.
Kjærnulf had a particular talent for combining the clean lines of 1960s modernism with more classical influences. He is perhaps best known for his iconic Razorblade chairs, but this highboard shows another side of the same distinctive approach.
There is something quite elegant about the balance between the simple, modern shape and the more traditional detailing. It gives the piece a character of its own and makes it surprisingly easy to combine with both modern and more classical interiors.
A beautiful and characteristic example of Kjærnulf’s work from the 1960s.
