Small Drawer Cabinet ‘MTP’ by Marian Grabinski for IKEA, 1963

650.00

Charming and good looking IKEA drawer cabinet that was designed as a wedding gift for Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA.

The cabinet is made of natural oak veneer with all edges in full oak, which limits the damage. Note the balanced, boxy shape with evenly spaced drawers that creates a visual harmony, and its raised legs, giving it a light, airy feel.

It has acquired a beautiful warm colour over time and is in excellent condition, apart from a minimal wear and tear.

Kamprad liked this design so much, that in 1963 it was available in all IKEA stores as the MTP series. And for a reason, it’s a beautiful example of Mid-Century Scandinavian design with its clean lines and a lack of ornamentation, highlighting its form and function.

H x W x D = 70 x 57 x 40 cm / 27.6 x 22.4 x 15.7 inch
