Look at this nice example of Danish design, where the geometry does all the talking.
Made by Eilersen, one of Denmark’s high-end furniture manufacturers, this vintage sofa is made up of ‘simple’ cubic forms.
The straight arms, low rectangular base and long, clean silhouette give the Eilersen sofa a strong presence without relying on details.
And then come the soft, down-filled back cushions, which completely change the mood. They sit loosely within the frame and bring a relaxed, slightly informal character to the otherwise very precise design.
It is this contrast between hard geometry and soft comfort that makes the sofa interesting. The black leather also adds to its graphic character.
The sofa shows some wear on the seats, with only some smaller signs of use throughout. Nothing unusual for a sofa of this age. Overall, it is still in very good vintage condition.
