Originally named Model 1853, these beautiful and timeless lamps were designed in 1954 by French decorator and master glassmaker Max Ingrand for the Italian manufacturer Fontana Arte. Max Ingrand has been the artistic director for Fontana Arte for 10 years and during this period he has created several iconic lighting designs. Later, this lamp ‘1853’, was named ‘Fontana’ as a tribute to the company Fontana Arte.
The ‘Fontana’ lamps are made of frosted white glass and stands on a perforated metal base. There are two small E14 fittings in the foot and 1 large E27 fitting in the lampshade. And as you can see, they can burn independently from each other.
The lamps were bought by the previous owners in the 1970s and are in mint condition. They still have the original switches and plugs and are in good working condition.
