An original first-edition G4 coffee table, designed by Janni van Pelt in 1956, The Netherlands.
This round G4 coffee table features a wire safety glass top combined with a grey metallic-painted steel frame. The result is a light, architectural silhouette with a refined modernist character. Its transparent design allows it to fit effortlessly into minimalist interiors, mid-century modern spaces, and eclectic homes.
These first-edition tables, produced by My Home / Bas van Pelt, were made exclusively on request and never entered standard production. As a result, early examples are very rare today. The grey version is particularly uncommon.
The table is in good vintage condition, with wear consistent with age and use. It comes from a single-owner provenance, having been purchased in the 1950s and happily lived with for decades.
Janni van Pelt’s work represents the essence of mid-century modern design, where form, function, and proportion are perfectly balanced.
